Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Supervisor, Food-Nutrition Services, you will be responsible for maintaining and administering established operational systems. You will play a key role in supporting the operational needs of your staff and contributing to the development of new systems as an active member of the management team.
Every day, you will lead designated Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) team members to ensure all operations run smoothly. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards of service excellence and ensuring that all departmental quality initiatives are consistently upheld.
To be successful in your role, you will demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement. By fostering a high-performing team and ensuring operational efficiency, you will help deliver a superior nutrition service experience for our patients and guests.
- Direct all patient-interactive positions, including dietitians and diet clerks, ensuring operational needs are met while maintaining strict regulatory and infection control compliance.
- Oversee daily staffing needs, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and workload assignments to ensure cost efficiency.
- Conduct frequent patient rounding to monitor quality and maintain clear, consistent communication with patients and staff to relay service feedback.
- Collaborate on menu development for patient, cafeteria, and catering services; manage the facility diet manual and ensure ongoing nutritional compliance.
- Perform job shadowing audits to evaluate training programs and provide direct staff coaching to ensure adherence to service standards.
Job Requirements
Required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service or one (1) year of hospital nutrition experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietary Manager within 24 months
- ServSafe Manager upon hire
- ServSafe Allergen (ServSafe Gen) within 60 days
Preferred
- Basic computer skills and leadership experience
