Description
Make a meaningful impact on student health and well-being! Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated School Nurse (RN) to provide essential healthcare services to K–8 students, support ongoing health needs, and promote everyday student wellness throughout the 2026–2027 school year in Chicago, IL.
Position Overview
- Provide in-person nursing services to K–8 students, supporting daily healthcare needs and promoting a safe, healthy school environment.
- Manage an average caseload of approximately 35 students, including students with IEPs and 504 Plans. Provide common health services such as diabetes management, asthma care, medication support, and routine student health needs.
- Monitor and respond to student health concerns while ensuring appropriate care is provided in accordance with individual healthcare plans and required service minutes.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student health, wellness, and successful participation in school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
- School nursing experience and familiarity with IEPs and 504 Plans strongly preferred, particularly experience supporting students in grades K–8
