About the position:
Role Summary
The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for leading one or more Agile teams in delivering business value through the effective application of Scrum, Agile, Lean, and SAFe principles. The role acts as a servant leader, Agile coach, facilitator, and change agent who enables teams to achieve high performance, remove impediments, improve predictability, and continuously enhance delivery outcomes. The Senior Scrum Master partners closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Solution Architects, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and business stakeholders to ensure successful program execution.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery Leadership
Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement, and PI Planning.
Ensure Agile and SAFe practices are consistently applied across teams.
Enable teams to deliver committed business value within agreed timelines.
Support release planning and delivery governance activities.
Agile Coaching & Continuous Improvement
Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and SAFe frameworks.
Drive Agile maturity and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Promote team self-organization, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Mentor junior Scrum Masters and contribute to Agile transformation initiatives.
Impediment & Dependency Management
Identify, track, escalate, and remove delivery blockers and impediments.
Facilitate dependency management across teams, programs, and Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
Lead Scrum of Scrums and support cross-team coordination.
Mitigate risks that could impact delivery commitments.
Stakeholder & Program Coordination
Collaborate with Product Owners to maintain a healthy and prioritized backlog.
Partner with Architecture, Engineering, QA, and Product teams to align priorities.
Ensure transparency of work through Agile management tools and reporting.
Communicate delivery progress, risks, and key metrics to stakeholders.
Metrics & Team Performance
Track and analyze team velocity, throughput, predictability, cycle time, and other Agile KPIs.
Drive improvements in delivery performance and team effectiveness.
Ensure all work is visible through Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent tools.
Monitor team health and engagement metrics.

Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence proficiency
Experience
8 -12 years of overall IT delivery experience.
8+ years of Scrum Master experience supporting Agile teams.
Experience working with distributed and cross-functional teams.
Experience leading multiple Agile teams and supporting large-scale Agile programs.
Certifications
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) preferred
SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) desirable
Preferred Technical Knowledge
Azure DevOps
Jira & Confluence
CI/CD and DevOps practices
Cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
Agile Reporting and Dashboarding
