The Opportunity

Join a well-established Australian accounting firm as an Assistant Manager, where you will take ownership of technical reviews across a diverse portfolio of SMSF funds. You will coach and develop a capable Vietnam-based team, work with high-net-worth and complex SMSF structures, and help deliver review-ready work with minimal changes required by Australian Associate Directors.

What You’ll Do

• Review SMSF financial statements, tax returns, workpapers, and compliance matters prepared by the Vietnam and outsourced teams
• Identify technical issues, errors, and missing information before work progresses to final Australian review
• Provide clear on-the-job coaching and technical feedback to accountants and senior accountants
• Apply strong knowledge of Australian tax, superannuation legislation, and SMSF requirements across simple and complex funds
• Work closely with Australian Associate Directors and managers to maintain quality, budgets, and workflow expectations
• Contribute to formal performance reviews and support the ongoing development of team members
• Communicate with clients mainly by email to request information and resolve SMSF queries when required
• Collaborate with Business Services and Bookkeeping managers to deliver coordinated support across shared clients

Key Criteria

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Australian SMSF experience
• At least 2 years of experience reviewing SMSF work at senior, team lead, supervisor, or management level
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and SMSF legislation, including experience with complex funds
• Proven ability to identify review points and prepare files requiring minimal change at final review
• Experience coaching, developing, and confidently providing feedback to accounting team members
• Strong written English, collaboration, accountability, and stakeholder communication skills

Work setup

• Ho Chi Minh City (Ree Tower, Xom Chieu Ward): Vietnam business hours (8 am–5 pm) with full-time working in the office.
