7-Eleven Distribution Canada Corp. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team. This role supports the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoice preparation, payment application, account reconciliation, and resolving customer billing inquiries.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of vendor payments and maintaining compliance with company financial procedures. This role involves coding invoices to appropriate 
accounts, reconciling discrepancies, and coordinating EFT payments and distribution. The AP Specialist also manages accounts payable records, prepares reports for management, and provides exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to resolve issues promptly are critical to success in this position.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure proper coding to designated accounts. 
• Match invoices to receiving documents and purchase orders, investigating discrepancies as needed. 
• Generate and post payments daily, coordinating approval and coding in a timely manner. 
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and prepare reports for management. 
• Handle payments, tobacco vendor payables, and drop shipment transactions, ensuring compliance with company procedures. 
• Investigate outstanding payables by contacting vendors and resolving issues promptly. 
• Provide exceptional internal and external customer service while ensuring accurate and efficient payment of vendor accounts. 
• Assist with emergent issues and participate in meetings as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Associates/2 Yr Degree Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred 
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 2+ years
YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: Completion of an accounting certificate program or equivalent experience preferred.
 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems for processing payables. 
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and analysis. 
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding invoices and reconciling discrepancies. 
• Strong organizational skills for managing high volumes of invoices and maintaining orderly files. 
• Ability to analyze and resolve payment issues promptly and effectively. 
• Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
