Join a Growing National Labor & Employment Practice
A well-established national law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to join its expanding practice in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to take the next step in their career while working alongside experienced attorneys on sophisticated employment matters and becoming part of a growing national practice.
The Opportunity:
The ideal candidate will have 4–8 years of experience handling a combination of employment counseling and litigation. The practice offers exposure to a broad range of matters, including complex wage and hour litigation and high-stakes employment disputes.
You will have the opportunity to work directly on matters involving:
- Wage and hour class actions
- Single-plaintiff discrimination claims
- Harassment matters
- Wrongful termination litigation
- Employment counseling
- Restrictive covenant matters
- Traditional labor matters
This role is particularly attractive for an attorney who enjoys both counseling and litigation and wants meaningful responsibility in a sophisticated practice.
What You'll Do:
- Represent employers in a variety of labor and employment disputes
- Research and analyze complex employment law issues
- Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents
- Take and defend depositions
- Assist with trial preparation and, where applicable, trial proceedings
- Advise clients on employment-related issues and risk
- Collaborate with attorneys across a growing national Labor & Employment practice
- Manage matters with increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4–8 years of labor and employment experience
- Experience with both employment counseling and litigation
- Experience handling wage and hour class actions
- Experience with single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination matters
- Strong legal research and motion-drafting skills
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Trial and/or substantial trial-preparation experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong academic and professional credentials
- Active admission to the California Bar
Preferred: Experience with restrictive covenants and/or traditional labor matters.
