We have a number of exciting on-going projects with clients across both commercial & naval marine domains and are seeking to expand our existing Marine Engineering capability.
As an Electrical Design Engineer every day at Expleo will be out of the ordinary and will require you to be dynamic and responsive to changes in technology, innovation, and client requirements. You will have the opportunity to carry out Electrical Engineering design activities, working closely with cross-functional teams on a range of projects, making sure that work complies with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- To embody a range of detail design activities in line with customer processes and quality requirements.
- Produce 3D models, 2D drawings and associated tasking.
- Address complex technical engineering tasks with supervision from senior engineers.
- Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately, on time and budget.
- Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards.
- Working within a multi disciplinary team to manage.
- Participate in both internal and external customer reviews ensuring that information is communicated clearly.
- Engineering Change embodiment.
Qualifications
- The candidate is required to hold a minimum of HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification / experience in relatable discipline/ subject
- Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience
Essential skills
- Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
- Able to work to Engineering Design Standards.
- FORAN.
- Windchill.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
Experience
- Experience in Design processes and procedures specifically within detail design
- Working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages)
- Experience in Electrical Design
- Relevant experience from other industries including, but not limited to, Oil & Gas, Process, Manufacturing, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Civil and Automotive
- Preferable Surface Ships experience
