Company Description

Weymouth, Swayze & Corroon Insurance, Inc. (WSC Insurance) is an independent, full-service property and casualty insurance brokerage serving businesses and individuals in the United States and internationally. For more than 85 years, we have helped clients protect their assets and navigate complex risks through thoughtful advice, tailored insurance solutions, and responsive service.

As a privately owned firm, we take a long-term approach to our client relationships. We value professional expertise, personal accountability, collaboration, and a consistently high standard of service.

Position Overview

WSC Insurance is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Executive to manage a portfolio of important commercial clients.

The Account Executive will serve as the principal day-to-day insurance advisor and relationship manager for assigned clients, owning each account from renewal planning through policy delivery and ongoing service. This person will be expected to understand each client's business, anticipate coverage needs, lead the renewal and marketing process, and ensure that all work is completed accurately and on schedule.

The ideal candidate is more than a processor or service representative. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, exercises sound judgment, communicates proactively, and can confidently manage complex commercial insurance relationships.

Key Responsibilities ● Serve as the primary relationship manager and insurance advisor for an assigned portfolio of commercial clients.

● Develop a thorough understanding of each client's operations, exposures, contractual requirements, coverage program, and business objectives.

● Lead the annual renewal process from beginning to end, including establishing timelines, gathering exposure information, reviewing loss history, preparing submissions, and coordinating internal responsibilities.

● Conduct comprehensive coverage reviews and identify gaps, deficiencies, emerging exposures, and opportunities to improve the client's insurance program.

● Develop renewal and marketing strategies in collaboration with producers before approaching carriers.

● Prepare complete, accurate, and compelling submissions for underwriters.

● Market new and renewal business, obtain and compare quotations, and negotiate pricing, coverage, deductibles, limits, and policy terms with carriers.

● Present renewal options and recommendations to clients in a clear, consultative manner.

● Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout the year and provide timely updates during renewals, claims, audits, and significant service matters.

● Oversee policy issuance, endorsements, certificates, audits, cancellations, premium finance matters, and other account activity, coordinating with internal service team members when appropriate.

● Review policies, endorsements, binders, and other documents for accuracy and consistency with quoted and bound terms.

● Assist clients with claims reporting and advocate for effective communication and resolution throughout the claims process.

● Maintain accurate and complete documentation within Applied Epic, including activities, attachments, policy information, proposals, and client communications.

● Collaborate with producers to support retention, cross-selling, account rounding, and new business opportunities.

● Build and maintain productive relationships with carrier underwriters and other insurance market partners.

● Monitor account status, renewal progress, and open service items to ensure deadlines and commitments are consistently met.

● Take personal accountability for the overall quality, retention, and client experience of the assigned portfolio.

Qualifications ● At least five years of commercial property and casualty insurance experience, preferably in an independent agency or brokerage

environment.

● Demonstrated experience independently managing a meaningful portfolio of commercial clients.

● Strong working knowledge of commercial property, general liability, commercial auto, workers' compensation, umbrella and excess liability, management liability, and other common commercial coverages.

● Ability to analyze coverage forms, endorsements, limits, deductibles, exclusions, loss history, and insurance requirements.

● Experience leading commercial renewals and marketing accounts to multiple carriers.

● Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop productive relationships with underwriters.

● Consultative client-management style with the confidence to lead meetings and make thoughtful coverage recommendations.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

● A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of issues through resolution.

● Ability to work effectively with producers, account managers, claims personnel, carrier representatives, and other internal and external partners.

● Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

● Working knowledge of Applied Epic is a significant plus.

● Active Property and Casualty insurance license required or must be obtained promptly after hire.

● Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, CRM, or CISR are valued but not required.

What Success Looks Like ● Build trusted, long-term relationships with assigned clients.

● Maintain a structured and proactive renewal process.

● Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality work.

● Anticipate client needs instead of simply responding to requests.

● Improve the quality and completeness of clients' insurance programs.

● Strengthen carrier relationships and achieve favorable renewal outcomes.

● Maintain strong client retention and identify appropriate opportunities for account growth.

● Create clear accountability across every stage of the client lifecycle.
