What this job involves:
As the Accounting Associate, you will be responsible for monthly labor billing and submission of invoices in the client AP system in service of the Amazon Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) client. You will coordinate and execute billing of $12M in monthly payroll across 250+ invoices/POs, working closely with the manager to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing while handling confidential payroll information with discretion. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Coordinate and execute billing of $12M in monthly payroll across 250+ invoices/POs, working closely with the manager to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing
- Handle confidential payroll information with discretion, maintaining the highest standards of data security and privacy
- Oversee JBS responsibilities related to invoice submission in Payee Central and cash applications, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal controls
- Complete monthly payroll audit to ensure billing accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively
- Handle billing inquiries related to invoicing, accruals, and variances while providing clear, professional communication to stakeholders
- Prepare analysis to identify required labor PO change orders and submit change orders as needed to maintain accurate purchase order alignment
- Handle monthly E1 and client payroll accruals, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards
- Provide support for budgeting and annual margin reconciliation, contributing financial insights to support strategic planning
- Support and implement process improvements and controls while maintaining process documentation and identifying opportunities for improvements that drive efficiency
- Demonstrate high level of customer service with client contacts and internal team, building strong relationships and trust through responsive support
- Support any additional ad hoc requests, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to evolving business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance demonstrating strong foundation in financial principles and practices
- Five (5) or more years of relevant accounting experience preferred with demonstrated track record of managing complex financial processes
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English with ability to communicate effectively in a professional business environment
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Products with Excel proficiency required for financial analysis and reporting
- Demonstrated consistency in values, principles, work ethic, and strong attention to detail that ensures accuracy and reliability
- Organizational skills with proven ability to deal with large quantities of financial data and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet client needs
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and payroll information
- Analytical skills with ability to identify trends, investigate variances, and develop data-driven recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with labor billing, payroll accounting, or accounts receivable in corporate or shared services environments
- Familiarity with Oracle E1 or similar ERP systems supporting financial transaction processing and reporting
- Experience with purchase order management and change order processes in complex procurement environments
- Knowledge of US GAAP or relevant accounting standards supporting accurate financial reporting and compliance
- Background working with third-party payroll systems or client-specific financial platforms
- Experience supporting budgeting processes and variance analysis that inform business decision-making
- Track record of implementing process improvements or internal controls that enhance efficiency and reduce risk
- Experience working in a shared services center or supporting multi-site operations with high transaction volumes
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data visualization tools
- Customer service experience demonstrating ability to manage stakeholder expectations and resolve issues professionally.
