We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our HVDC Service business, supporting the protection of critical infrastructure that underpins the global energy transition.
This is a role where technical expertise meets real-world impact. You'll be working with some of the most advanced power systems in the world, helping customers maintain secure, reliable and compliant operational technology environments throughout the lifecycle of their assets.

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you'll work closely with customers, service teams and engineering colleagues to identify risks, implement security solutions and ensure critical systems remain protected against an evolving threat landscape. You'll be given the opportunity to take ownership, contribute new ideas and continue developing your career within a global technology leader.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their cyber security experience while working in an industry that is directly supporting the world's journey towards a more sustainable energy future.
How you'll make an impact
- Support the delivery of cyber security services across HVDC and Power Quality installations, ensuring systems remain secure, available and compliant throughout their operational lifecycle.

- Design, implement and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, switches, routers and supporting infrastructure within critical operational technology environments.
- Participate in cyber security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk mitigation activities, identifying opportunities to strengthen system resilience and reduce operational risk.
- Troubleshoot complex cyber security and networking issues, providing technical expertise and guidance to both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of cyber security documentation, procedures, policies and technical standards.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, helping them understand cyber security risks, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance tools, processes and cyber security service offerings across the wider business.
Background
- Experience within cyber security, networking, systems administration or a related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and secure communications technologies.
- Knowledge of cyber security principles, standards and best practices, ideally within industrial control systems, operational technology or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience working with Windows Server environments, Active Directory and security-focused system administration activities.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within networked environments.
- Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders, building trusted relationships and providing technical guidance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
