Location: Aurora, OH (On-site)
LayerZero is seeking an experienced data professional to serve as the dedicated owner of master data governance, quality, and systems administration for the organization. This role sets the standards, enforces the process, and administers the technology behind master data across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and sales operations.
The Master Data Manager will work in close partnership with the functional data owners in engineering, procurement, sales, and finance, who remain the subject-matter owners of their respective domains, and with IT leadership. The Manager is also the system administrator and platform owner for Profisee, the master data management platform, and is accountable for its day-to-day operation and ongoing configuration.
Key Responsibilities:
? Governance and Standards
- Define and maintain LayerZero's master data governance framework: naming conventions, field standards, and required attributes for item, vendor, customer, and GL master records
- Establish and document a formal RACI for each master data domain, clarifying who may create, edit, or approve records and who owns the governance and quality process
- Build and maintain the intake and approval workflow for new items, vendors, and customers, including required approvals from functional data owners
- Review ERP configuration changes that affect master data structure or fields, and partner with IT leadership on the Enterprise Systems Roadmap as it relates to master data
? Data Quality
- Run recurring data-quality audits across master data domains — duplicates, incomplete records, inconsistent formatting — and drive remediation with the responsible functional team
- Define, track, and report data-quality KPIs to leadership, including duplicate rate, record completeness, and cycle time to approve new records
- Investigate master data discrepancies surfacing in the ERP, reporting, or downstream systems, and resolve root causes at the source rather than in the consuming system
? Platform Administration
- Administer the Profisee platform as system administrator and platform owner: user access and roles, environment configuration, and platform health monitoring
- Design and maintain match-merge rules, survivorship logic, and data models for each master data domain (item, vendor, customer, GL)
- Build and maintain approval workflows that route new or changed master records to the correct functional approver before they publish
- Own the integration between Profisee and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other downstream systems, working with IT to troubleshoot sync issues and keep master data consistent across systems
- Configure and monitor data-quality rules and stewardship dashboards, and use them to drive the audits and KPI reporting above
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Profisee vendor on support issues, upgrades, and license administration; evaluate and roll out new platform capabilities as master data needs grow
? Cross-Functional Coordination and Training
- Act as the single point of contact for master data questions across engineering, procurement, sales, and finance
- Develop a Key User network across functional teams to promote consistent standards and scalable support operations
- Conduct Key User training and train-the-trainer sessions on data standards, submission workflows, and the tools used to maintain each domain
- Maintain documentation of standards, workflows, and platform configuration; provide tier 2+ support for master data and Profisee issues
Requirements
Qualifications:
? Required
- 4+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or a related data or systems role
- Hands-on administration experience with an MDM platform (Profisee strongly preferred; comparable platforms such as Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, or Reltio considered)
- Working knowledge of ERP master data structures, including item master, BOM, vendor, customer, and GL/chart of account
- Proficiency with SQL and comfort working directly with relational data
- Ability to drive standards and process adoption across departments without direct authority, and to communicate requirements clearly to functional teams
? Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience standing up or maturing a master data program from an early or ad hoc state
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, or formal data governance certification
- Experience with ERP-to-MDM integration patterns and middleware or ETL tools
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Supply Chain, or related field
