Overview

GKG seeks an experienced Vice President of Government Relations to expand our visibility across federal agencies and help identify opportunities to support their missions. The selected individual will draw on their knowledge of federal operations, procurement, and stakeholder relationships to introduce GKG to relevant decision makers, learn about agency priorities, and help position the company for future work.

This is a relationship-focused business development assignment. The selected individual will serve as an advocate for GKG, opening conversations and bringing useful agency and market insight back to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce GKG and its capabilities to appropriate federal agency, industry, and partner contacts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across agencies relevant to GKG’s growth priorities.

  • Represent GKG at relevant meetings, events, and industry forums.
  • Identify promising opportunities and recommend practical next steps for GKG’s business development team.
  • Share insight on agency structures, decision makers, acquisition approaches, and the broader federal market.
  • Advise GKG leadership on outreach strategy, messaging, introductions, and relationship development.
  • Coordinate with GKG’s leadership, capture, and recruiting teams as opportunities develop.
  • Provide regular updates on outreach activity, key conversations, emerging opportunities, and recommended follow-up.
  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Government, Political Science, Public Policy, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in government relations, congressional affairs, federal public policy, or federal business development, including at least five years in a senior leadership or advisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal agency operations, government procurement, and legislative and appropriations processes.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with senior federal officials, congressional stakeholders, industry associations, and business partners.
  • Experience representing an organization before government and industry stakeholders and advising executive leadership on government engagement strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate policy developments, agency priorities, and stakeholder insight into actionable business development opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate across leadership and business development teams.
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings at federal agencies and industry events throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Desired Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience working with federal agencies, government relations, public policy, or federal business development.
  • Established understanding of federal decision-making, procurement, and the government stakeholder landscape.
  • Strong professional network and ability to build credible relationships with agency and industry leaders.
