Position Summary
The Data Integration Specialist will own the end-to-end data pipelines moving in and out of our internal databases. You will be primarily responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integrations that push internal data (such as user activity and lead data) to 3rd-party platforms like HubSpot, as well as ingesting data from external vendors and platforms back into our internal systems.
You will work closely with the data, engineering and client service teams to ensure data flows securely, accurately, and reliably across our entire tech stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Build & Manage Integrations: Design, develop, and maintain robust API integrations and data pipelines connecting internal databases with external 3rd-party platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Pipeline Architecture: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using custom code (Python).
- Data Quality & Integrity: Implement monitoring, alerting, and error-handling mechanisms to identify and resolve data discrepancies, API rate limit issues, and synchronization failures.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all data transfers comply with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and internal security protocols, utilizing OAuth, API keys, and encryption standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across product and client service teams to gather requirements, map data fields, and translate business needs into technical integration specs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or a specialized data integration role.
- API Expertise: Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, Webhooks, GraphQL, and OAuth authentication. You should know how to read 3rd-party API documentation and build resilient connections.
- Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python or a similar backend language used for scripting and building custom integrations.
- Database & SQL Skills: Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience querying and modeling data in modern relational databases or cloud data warehouses.
- Problem-Solving: Strong debugging skills with the ability to untangle complex data mapping issues and track down data discrepancies across disparate systems.
