Write your story with a career at Zip
Join Zip’s Technology function, responsible for building and maintaining seamless, secure and sustainable platforms that enable customers to shop with confidence and merchant partners to grow their brands.
As an IT Support Assistant in our Corporate IT team, you’ll be one of the friendly faces Zipsters turn to when they need technology support.
This is a hands on Level 1 opportunity where you’ll solve everyday IT issues, support our Sydney office and help make sure our people have the devices, access and workplace technology they need to do their best work.
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything about our technology environment. We’re looking for someone with technical curiosity, a genuine interest in building a career in IT and a Customer First approach to helping people. You’ll have support from the team as you build your capability and confidence.
What you’ll own
- Provide friendly and responsive Level 1 technology support to Zipsters face to face and through our Service Desk channels
- Triage and resolve everyday incidents and service requests across laptops, mobile devices, accounts, applications, connectivity and workplace technology
- Support technology across our Sydney office, including desks, meeting rooms, printing and business events
- Prepare, deploy, refresh, recover and retire Windows and macOS devices, mobile devices and accessories
- Complete approved identity, access and application requests in line with our processes and security controls
- Provide user support and basic administration across platforms including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Take ownership of your tickets, keeping Zipsters informed and following through until there is a clear resolution or handover
- Troubleshoot methodically, gathering the right information and escalating more complex issues to the appropriate specialist with useful evidence
- Support onboarding and offboarding, equipment allocation, returns, stock checks and day to day asset management
- Use our knowledge articles and processes to solve problems, sharing what you learn so the next person can resolve an issue even more easily
- Work closely with the wider Corporate IT team while following our security, privacy, safety and change requirements
What you’ll bring to the team
Zipsters work on a broad range of initiatives, and our skills and experiences all look a little different. What really matters to us is that you’re a great fit with our four Values, and have a desire to learn and grow.
So whether you meet some or all of the desirable attributes below, we’d still love to hear from you:
- A genuine interest in developing your career in IT, supported by technical aptitude gained through study, work, personal projects or practical experience
- A Customer First mindset and the patience to listen, understand what someone needs and explain solutions in plain language
- Practical problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the confidence to ask questions, gather information, test solutions and seek support when needed
- Basic familiarity with Windows or macOS, common applications and workplace technology
- A careful and structured approach to following processes, documenting your work and handling company devices, information and access appropriately
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with people with different levels of technical knowledge
- Reliability, attention to detail and the ability to organise competing support requests and operational tasks
- Personal ownership, including following up on your work, raising blockers early and making sure there is always a clear next step
- Experience in a customer facing or service focused environment. This does not need to have been in an IT role
- Availability to work three days per week on site in our Sydney office
- Study, training or certification in information technology, or equivalent practical learning, would be welcomed but is not essential
- Exposure to workplace IT platforms such as Jira Service Management, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Entra ID or device management tools would be useful, but we don’t expect you to know our technology environment before you join
What you’ll get in return
As we write this next exciting chapter in our story, we will continue to move at pace and embrace change. For you, this might mean opportunities to learn new skills with hands-on experience, broader responsibilities, or the buzz of seeing your work impact customers faster.
Zip is a place where you’ll get out exactly what you put in. When you join the team, we'll do our best to make sure you can be yourself and surround yourself with smart, friendly colleagues and leaders who have your back, so that you can make the big things happen.
Zipsters tell us these are just some of the best things about working here. You’ll also receive:
