About the role
Join Wesley Mission Queensland as a Disability Support Worker in our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) team.
This is hands-on, meaningful work where you support vulnerable people with disability to build independence in their everyday lives.
In this role, you will:
Led by Registered Nurses
Trained to practice High Intensity Supports (i.e. Dysphasia management, Epilepsy, Tracheostomy).
Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks)
Support individuals to build independence and life skills
Assist with community access and participation
Work collaboratively with a team to deliver active supports and, person-centred care
What your day can look like
No two days are the same. You might:
Help someone cook their first independent meal
Support a resident to confidently leave home and access the community
Deliver responsive support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
Build trust through everyday routines, conversations, and shared activities

Permanent DSW Pay Rates:
Mon–Fri (AM shifts): $36.22/hr
Mon–Fri (Afternoon shifts): $40.75/hr
Mon–Fri (Night shifts): $41.65/hr
Saturday: $54.33/hr
Sunday: $72.44/hr
Public Holidays: $90.55/hr
Sleepover allowance: $62.11

About you
We’re looking for reliable, genuine people who want to build a career in disability support.
You will have:
A caring, respectful, and patient approach
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in supporting people to live independently
Requirements
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
Current Australian Driver’s Licence – with full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid & CPR
Strong written and verbal communication skills
