Description

At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.

Broadridge is hiring! We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Government & Regulatory Affairs to join its Regulatory Affairs team. Reporting to the Head of Government Affairs, this individual will play a critical role in advancing Broadridge's policy priorities by building and maintaining relationships with key federal officials, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, and positioning Broadridge as a trusted resource among policymakers and industry stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the financial services regulatory landscape, a strong network on Capitol Hill and within federal agencies, and the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear, compelling narratives for a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities

Government Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop, manage, and deepen relationships with Members of Congress, congressional staff, federal agency officials, and other key external stakeholders relevant to Broadridge's business and policy interests

  • Serve as a credible, trusted representative of Broadridge in the legislative and regulatory arenas, effectively communicating the company's mission, capabilities, and policy perspectives

  • Represent Broadridge at congressional hearings, regulatory forums, industry coalitions, and policy events

Legislative & Regulatory Monitoring

  • Proactively monitor federal legislative and regulatory activity — including actions by the SEC, FINRA, CFTC, Treasury, etc. and Congress — for potential impact on Broadridge and its clients

  • Analyze proposed rules, legislation, and policy initiatives and provide timely, actionable intelligence to senior leadership and internal stakeholders

  • Identify emerging policy trends and assess their implications for Broadridge's business strategy and regulatory obligations

Strategy Development & Execution

  • Assist in developing and executing government affairs strategies to advance Broadridge's policy objectives on key legislative and regulatory matters

  • Draft and review comment letters, white papers, testimony, briefing materials, external regulatory updates, and other policy communications

  • Effectively manage and coordinate with outside consultants and lobbying firms to support government affairs initiatives

Internal Coordination & Leadership

  • Collaborate extensively across Broadridge's business units, legal, compliance, and communications teams to ensure alignment on policy positions and messaging

  • Keep senior leadership and relevant internal teams informed of pertinent governmental activity and its potential business impact

  • Contribute to the development of a cohesive, proactive government affairs function within the Regulatory Affairs team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or JD strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in government relations, federal affairs, legislative affairs, or a related field

  • Prior experience working in or with Congress, a federal regulatory agency (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FINRA, Treasury), or a financial services firm's government affairs function strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with senior government officials, congressional staff, and high-level private sector representatives

  • Strong working knowledge of the financial services industry, securities regulation, and the federal legislative and rulemaking processes

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex regulatory and policy issues for diverse audiences

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate policy developments and recommend proactive responses

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound professional judgment
