What is the opportunity?
This role is responsible for management and administration of the financial reporting (including statutory and regulatory), tax reporting and business planning activities for RBC Royal Bank N.V., and RBC Royal Bank (Aruba) N.V. (the Banks) and subsidiaries in accordance with RBC Group and International Financial Reporting Standards and Regulatory requirements. Also participates in development and maintenance of the framework for monitoring and improving operating efficiency for the Banks. In respect of Aruba, provide oversight to the financial reporting process and supports the year end audit process.
What will you do?
- Ensure that monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts are prepared in a timely and accurate fashion for submission to the Country Managers of the Banks (Curacao, St. Maarten and Aruba), Board of Directors, Audit & Risk Committees and the Bank’s divisional management teams
- Ensure that audited accounts are prepared in a timely fashion in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and RBC Group Policies
- Liaise with external auditors for the Banks including responding and implementing prescribed internal control recommendations
- Preparation of audited financial statements of the Banks and their subsidiaries in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and RBC Group Policies.
- Preparation of financial reports for internal management and Shareholder - RBC
- Performing the reporting requirements for the Banks
- Ensure the bank’s Compliance with regulatory requirements including timely submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Central Banks returns
- Liaise with Central Banks including responding and implementing prescribed internal control recommendations
- Define, in cooperation with the Country Managers and based on department plans as submitted by department heads, the strategies to achieve budget objectives.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the annual business plans for RBC Royal Bank N.V.,RBC and RBC Royal Bank (Aruba) N.V. including development of presentations for management and Board.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- University degree in Accounting, Economics or Business or CPA
- Execution excellence - ability to work independently and effectively manage numerous priorities simultaneously
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge of Personal and Commercial Banking business lines and products
- Thorough knowledge of the Organization’s routine guidelines, products, practices and procedures.
