Job Description:

Assistant Resident Engineer (Landscape / Architect)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

What You'll Be Doing:

• Performs well-defined field engineering assignments primarily involving constructability reviews and the observation of work in progress

• Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards

• Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline; coordinates application of solutions

• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for landscape and irrigation works, providing recommendations to the Resident Engineer.

• Proficient in hardscape detailing (walls, finishes, water features) and softscape (soil, plant materials, planting techniques) in addition to good exposure to Play / Fitness equipment, site furniture and shading structures.

• Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff

• Monitors discipline construction schedules and assists in progress appraisal

• Provides schedule and progress appraisal data to the Resident Engineer

• Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline

• Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.

• Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees

• Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards

• Maintains a daily log for permanent record of project construction, as well as discipline data for the final project turnover and report.

• Maintains construction technical catalogs, supplier data, and other literature pertaining to the project

• Review Contractor’s submissions.

  Supervise and assist site inspection staff, conduct inspection if necessary.

• Prepare progress report as deemed necessary

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering or related filed.

  Minimum of 8+ years post graduate experience in site supervision, and construction management of infrastructure, roads & utility projects

• Demonstrable experience in all aspects oaping Projects, Rf supervision on roads and general infrastructure projects preferably in Abu Dubai.

• Familiar with Authorities regulations and approval process.

• Good experience with DMT or ADM projects is an advantage.

  Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.

• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.

  Requires a working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices

• Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary.
