Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer in the Product Transfer team is a technical leader responsible for assessing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing solutions for product transfer projects. The role combines industrial engineering, equipment and capacity analysis, Lean Six Sigma, manufacturing systems, and data-driven decision-making to establish safe, compliant, capable, and efficient operations at the receiving site. The Staff Engineer independently leads complex studies, provides robust equipment and FTE estimates, and drives measurable improvements in capacity, flow, cost, quality, and delivery.

What will you do: 

• Lead Product Transfer assessments to define project scope, technical requirements, risks, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and receiving-site readiness.
• Perform equipment analysis covering capability, capacity, condition, reliability, safety, utilities, regulatory requirements, lifecycle cost, and suitability for transfer or replacement.
• Develop equipment capacity models using demand, product mix, yield, changeover time, uptime, shift patterns, planned losses, and demonstrated cycle times.
• Design manufacturing systems for the receiving plant, including process flow, line balancing, material movement, workstation concepts, staffing models, and interfaces with quality and logistics processes.
• Collect, validate, analyse, and improve direct and indirect labour data; establish labour standards and maintain approved values in receiving-plant planning and manufacturing systems.
• Plan and conduct cycle-time studies, calculate standard cycle times and production rates, document assumptions, and update applicable systems and project models.
• Calculate takt time and Available Takt Time (ATT), identify capacity constraints, and recommend improvements to balance demand, labour, equipment, and process flow.
• Develop and recommend layout optimizations using Lean principles, ergonomic requirements, material-flow analysis, point-of-use concepts, and space-utilization data.
• Lead equipment qualification activities and associated engineering studies, including requirements definition, risk assessment, installation and commissioning support, validation strategy, capability studies, and documented technical conclusions.
• Prepare and challenge make-versus-buy engineering assessments using technical feasibility, capacity, quality, lead time, risk, capital, operating cost, and lifecycle considerations.
• Identify and eliminate MUDA across transferred value streams through value-stream mapping, standard work, line balancing, workplace organization, flow, pull, and structured Kaizen activity.
• Track production output and overall efficiency indicators during transfer, qualification, ramp-up, and stabilization; investigate performance gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Provide early project estimates for equipment, tooling, floor space, utilities, labour, and engineering or operational FTE requirements, including assumptions, sensitivity analysis, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Lead cross-functional technical reviews, communicate recommendations to stakeholders, coach engineers, and ensure decisions and deliverables are documented in accordance with applicable quality, regulatory, GMP, and safety requirements.

 

What do you need:

• Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Transfer, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), or Manufacturing Systems Design.
  • Experience conducting manufacturing assessments and converting technical, labor, capacity, and demand data into engineering recommendations.
  • Experience with equipment specification, selection, commissioning, qualification, transfer, and manufacturing process implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing systems design, including equipment, labor, material flow, quality controls, logistics, ergonomics, and digital manufacturing systems.
  • Hands-on experience applying industrial engineering methodologies including time studies, cycle-time analysis, takt time, capacity modeling, line balancing, bottleneck analysis, staffing models, utilization, OEE, yield, and changeover analysis.
  • Practical application of Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving methodologies, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, standard work, visual management, Poka-Yoke, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa, with measurable business results.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including data validation, statistical and sensitivity analysis, data visualization, and evidence-based decision making; 
  • Fluent Polish and English knowledge.

• Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems, including SAP master data and production system maintenance.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • Knowledge of risk-based validation, IQ/OQ/PQ, MSA, capability studies, and maintenance of the validated state.

  

 

Poland Pay Rangess:

• 136 700,00 - 227 900,00 PLN gross annual
