Facilities Coordinator Job Summary:
The Facilities Coordinator ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of the Texas Precious Metals Depository. This role is responsible for performing repairs, managing work orders, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the facility. The Coordinator works closely with contractors and internal teams to support smooth operations.
Facilities Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Maintain all machinery and equipment per manuals and specifications
- Oversee building and equipment preventive maintenance schedules
- Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment functionality
- Respond to and resolve work order requests promptly
- Serve as liaison with outside contractors for facility-related services
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and compliance
- Apply for or assist with environmental permits
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and reorder as necessary
- Inspect and test parts using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Adjust, lubricate, and clean mechanical systems
- Start devices to test functionality and troubleshoot issues
- Repair electrical and mechanical equipment
- All other duties as assigned by management
Facilities Coordinator Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for maintaining reports and logs
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and equipment safety
- Flexibility working across teams and departments
Facilities Coordinator Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience
- Knowledge in general maintenance, mechanics, or facilities coordination
Work Environment:
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, including exposure to noise, fumes, weather extremes, and climate-controlled environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and climbing
- Lift up to 40 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally (with assistance)
- Carry loads up to 60 feet and push/pull pallet jacks up to 2000 lbs (4000 lbs with assistance)
