Position Summary


  • Manage and lead a team of Global Study Managers (GSMs) and Study Managers (SMs) within Global Clinical Study Delivery. 
  • Oversees study level performance of FSP SDS  
  • Ensure appropriate level of resources of qualified and trained GSMs/SMs to support Human Subject Research studies delivery within deadlines, budgets and quality, according to ICH/GCP, company control documents and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for driving capability development within the GSM and SM roles; driving development and skills to develop highly capable managers who thrive in the role 

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, direction and vision for a team of approximately 15 direct reports.   Responsible for quality practices, improvement support and training related to Global Study Delivery Management roles.
  • Ensures that a level of Quality Control (QC) is embedded in GSMs and SMs day to day activities.  
  • Ensures Harmonization of practice at study level for GSMs and SMs to ensure consistency, high quality and efficiency.  
  • Drives the implementation of new practices and best practice sharing.
  • Provides relevant inputs on talent/skills into resource mapping decisions. 
  • Oversees and manages resource utilization across direct reports.
  • Leads and directs staff by providing company vision and strategy.  
  • Manages performance effectively by setting clear and measurable goals/objectives, providing regular and constructive feedback, conducting open and transparent conversations on areas needing improvement, recognizing and rewarding achievements, facilitating professional development opportunities, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and values.
  • Contributes to GSMs and SMs capability building by supporting onboarding and community forums.
  • Drives an effective change management culture.

Basic Qualification


  • General Science or Life/Health related Science Degree
  • Pharmacy, Chemistry, Bio Engineer, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Project Management, Business School

Preferred Qualification

  • Overall Experience 10+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years of line management experience in additional to relevant study management /study delivery experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in the following:

  • Managing clinical operations with thorough understanding and application of ICH/GCP and Regulatory requirements driving clinical development.
  • Experience working in international settings, leading teams across diverse geographical, national, and cultural boundaries by delegating tasks appropriately, empowering team members, fostering collaboration, and ensuring accountability for results.
  • Experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaborative efforts and deliver outcomes aligned with customer needs.
  • Experience in setting priorities, allocating resources, and managing performance targets and project initiatives within a global environment.
  • Experience in resolving complex issues by analyzing root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Communicates clearly and accurately; delivers presentations, listens actively, and provides actionable feedback.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and the clinical research organization (CRO) landscape, including experience working with functional service providers.
  • Demonstrated capability to contribute to talent acquisition, development, and succession planning to support a sustainable resourcing model aligned with global study management (GSM) capabilities
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of clinical operations and activities associated to study delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge ICH-GCP and Regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of written & spoken English
  • Excellent customer orientation, ability to work beyond silos with a strong service provider mindset.
  • Able to manage and lead teams across geographical boundaries; leads by example and promotes collaboration, effective communication and leadership in others.
  • Effective at problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Able to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global environment
  • Experience in international settings, able to build alliances and influence across national and cultural boundaries
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
