The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:

• $87,600 to $109,500 in Orange, CT
• $91,600 to $114,500 in Boston, MA

Job Summary

The Analyst, Project Management Office (PMO) & Portfolios role is responsible for supporting the oversight of the AVANGRID IT portfolio of projects in accordance with Global IT metrics, and key industry processes and standards.   This role is also responsible for oversight of various programs and projects and provides relationship management on behalf of the AVANGRID IT group. The objective includes providing an IT technical solution to meet the requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.   

 

The Analyst, PMO & Portfolios role supports both the business and IT departments with funding of approved projects.  This role reports to the Sr. Manager - IT Financials/Vendor Management Office (VMO) & PMO. 

Key Responsibilities

 

Accountability Statements:

• Works with the PMO Team to support demand management processes and standards.
• Partners with project managers to help improve the integrity of project delivery and reporting.
• Works within the PMO Team to develop specific portfolio change suggestions to help achieve PMO metrics.
• Partners with project managers to help achieve PMO metrics.
• Partners with project managers to improve their knowledge of project reporting within the IT project management tool, Clarity.
• Schedules and participates in meetings with project managers to ensure timely and accurate project updates for tasks – e.g., key milestone and other progress tasks, project highlights, and project risks.
• Performs as a resource for project management directions, including providing training and guidance for new project managers.
• Builds and maintains productive relationships with project managers.

• Effectively partners with the PMO Team to identify and implement process improvements to help achieve the PMO metrics and improve overall reporting of project delivery.

Dimensions:

• Performs as a team player within AVANGRID IT Shared Services under Financials / VMO / PMO.
• Works effectively with both the Local and Global PMO teams, including working with project managers and directors across the AVANGRID portfolio.

• Interfaces with global counterparts to review solution design and facilitate best practice process considerations in solution design.

• Effectively influences project managers to ensure adherence to PM standards and processes.

• Partners with a variety of project managers across the AVANGRID Companies, and with global teams in a busy, lively, and growing team environment.

• Performs as a role holder by working closely with project managers across all the IT Areas (Applications (APPs), Technical Project Owner (TPO), Financials, etc.) to support successful project delivery and reporting.
• Works closely with IBERDROLA’s Global PMO Team.
• Works closely with the Shared Services Financial Team to ensure consistency in reporting financial results impacting PMO metrics.
• Engages IT Managers across AVANGRID, as needed, to effectively manage expectations and ensure timely deliverables are achieved.

• Performs effectively as a team player with demonstrated interpersonal and communicative skills.

• Travel (as required). 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology or a relevant related field of study and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Obtains and maintains a basic understanding of the CAPEX budget process and impacts to the PMO metrics and deliverables.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Suite products.

• Solid skills working with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

• Prior experience working cross functionally.

• Proven collaborator to work, promote and consolidate efficient team working relationships.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
