Job Description
The Hospital Medicine Department at MUSC Health – Chester Medical Center, is seeking skilled Acute Care trained Advanced Practice Providers interested in providing adult in-patient care at Chester Medical Center.
MUSC Health - Chester Medical Center is an intimate, 82-bed facility whose caregivers share a sense of pride working in close-knit teams with supportive department directors to serve the residents of Chester County. We offer emergency care, family medicine, gastroenterology, heart & vascular, imaging, internal medicine, orthopedics, pediatric services, rehabilitation, women’s health and wound care services.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Board certified (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA)
Active or eligible South Carolina license
Experience in hospital medicine or emergency medicine preferred
Strong clinical decision-making and adaptability
Position Highlights:
7on/7off schedule
Perform comprehensive history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation
Works with Hospitalists, mainly on admissions and cross coverage
Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student
Coordinate discharges, follow-up care, and patient education
Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Additional Job Description
Graduation from an approved Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessor agencies. Must be licensed in the state of South Carolina, and certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
