Key responsibilities for this role include:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot analytical equipment, such as Mass Spectrometers and/or HPLCs for laboratory operation.
Develop and validate analytical methods to quantify drugs and metabolites in biological matrices to support bioequivalence and other pharmacokinetics studies with supervision.
Document laboratory activity in accordance with established procedures.
Review and write reports.
Assist in troubleshooting analytical problems encountered during study runs.
Serve as a scientific/technical information resource for junior laboratory staff.
Review data and associated documentation for scientific soundness and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Write and revise analytical methods
Perform other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 4-7 years of experience. A Doctorate and 0-2 years experience, a Masters and 4 years experience or a Bachelor's degree and 8 years experience preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Must possess knowledge of the techniques and instrumentation employed in quantitative bioanalysis (e.g. HPLC, mass spectrometry, laboratory automation, sample preparation, etc.). Must be familiar with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulations.
Must possess good communication (oral and written) and analytical skills. Must have a working knowledge of common computer software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel) as well as instrument-specific control and data acquisition software.
Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts. Ability to present to a group of departments.
Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English is required.
