Summary

Perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair  and maintenance of machinery, and building equipment.

 Responsibilities

· Perform work in accordance with sound safety practices.

· Work within the TPM and TMC systems to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs and/or adjustments.

· Perform P/M’s and C/M’s on equipment.

· Install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems on all plant equipment, machines and power and lighting systems.

· Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

· Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

· Executing plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems

· Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems

· Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components

· Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.

· Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units

· Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects

Requirements

Experience and Education Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED.

· E2 License Required

· Reading, writing and mathematical level necessary to competently perform job duties.

· Minimum two years of electrical schooling.

· Minimum five years of on the job electrical training.

· Ability to read PLC latter logic and PLC’s Troubleshooting.

· Extensive knowledge of and work in accordance with the National and Local electric codes.

· Thorough working knowledge of the following: PLC’s, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical.

· Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting to minimize machine downtime and improve safety.

· Extensive knowledge of the practice, methods, tools, equipment and material used in this trade.

· Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to read and interpret sketches, diagrams and blueprints.

 Additional Notes

· Position requires the ability to lift, bend, good hand dexterity, visual inspection and some manual handling not to exceed 35 pounds. Work in high areas or off scaffolds.
