About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Fire and Flood division, covering the North Doncaster or Preston area.

Working within our busy insurance repairs department, you will be responsible for managing projects arising from fire, flood, subsidence, impact and escape of water claims. The role combines surveying, estimating, project management and client liaison, overseeing projects from initial inspection through to final account.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong construction project management experience who enjoys working closely with clients, policyholders, subcontractors and insurers to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit policyholders and other stakeholders to assess damage, prepare schedules of repair and agree scopes of work.
  • Manage insurance repair projects from initial survey through to completion.
  • Prepare costings, valuations and contract documentation using internal systems and client portals.
  • Manage variations, interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
  • Monitor project progress and produce accurate reports and updates.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, workmanship and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Liaise with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with office-based coordinators to ensure effective document control and information management.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and snagging activities.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience managing construction, insurance reinstatement, fire and flood restoration or property repair projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and building repair works.
  • Experience preparing project costings, valuations and final accounts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable
  • Experience within insurance reinstatement or property claims environments.
  • Experience reading and interpreting structural engineers' and surveyors' reports.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental management requirements.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused individual who can manage projects from start to finish while maintaining strong relationships with clients, policyholders and contractors.

The successful candidate will be organised, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where customer service, quality and delivery are equally important.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including:

  • Holiday entitlement increasing with length of service
  • Company pension scheme
  • Life insurance
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
