Description
The Mimecast Business Legal team is looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced, global legal team. This is a new and exciting role as part of a small sub-team of Commercial Contract Managers reporting to the Business Legal Team. This is a full-time role based in Johannesburg requiring cross-jurisdictional shift work.
As a key member of the legal team supporting all Mimecast regions, you’ll need strong analytical skills, the ability to assess and mitigate contractual risk, excellent communication skills and the ability to work to a high standard within tight deadlines. It’s an energetic, solution driven environment and you’ll be required to negotiate contracts with customers from many different industry sectors and work alongside key stake holders and business partners across the company as part of the wider deal support desk.
What You'll Do
Providing support and advice to internal business stakeholders regarding contractual negotiations and general contractual queries
Ensure compliance with all Company contracting policies, processes, and procedures
Reviewing & negotiate standard contractual redlines
Vendor contracts
Customer contracts
BAAs (HIPAA)
DPAs (POPIA, GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
Partner Agreements
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating Non-Disclosure Agreements
Preparation of final versions of contracts and legal approvals
Providing support to the deal support desk for standard contractual changes
Triage Business Legal inbox, legal support requests and redline queries
Monitor Deal Support internal Slack channels and respond to legal process/contractual questions as needed
Assisting with the submission of responses to Requests for Information/Requests for Proposals, relating to both public and to private sector entities (legal terms and submission letters)
End of quarter/year deal room support
Liaise with commercial counsel and ensure escalation of more complex matters via appropriate process
Formatting, proofing and finalising contractual documentation and co-ordinating approvals and signatures
Assisting with legal due diligence as needed
Faciliating compliance with legal operational processes (for example exceptions process and protocols)
Providing ad hoc advice on legal process and operational inquiries
Document management – efficient organization of files, templates and folders
Reviewing and updating contractual templates and maintaining version control

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) is required
Minimum 1 year post admission or in house legal experience.
The base salary range for this position is 400k−480k ZAR plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
