Senior Finance Manager – India Property Management (REMS)

About the role 

JLL is a multi-business, multi-entity organization specializing in real estate services. The Finance Controllership function is responsible for ensuring accuracy of accounting, robustness of internal controls, and compliance with global and local financial policies. 

As Senior Finance Manager – India Property Management (REMS), you will be responsible for controllership, governance, and financial oversight of JLL’s India Property Management / REMS business. This role will partner closely with REMS business leaders while ensuring disciplined financial management, strong controls, compliant reporting, and effective contract governance. 

 

What this job involves 

Controllership, Governance & Compliance 

• Own finance controllership responsibilities for the India Property Management business line. 

• Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition methodology in line with IFRS 15 / ASC 606 / Ind AS 115. 

• Ensure adherence to Group Finance policies, US GAAP, Ind AS, and local statutory requirements. 

• Oversee SOX control environment, periodic certifications, and remediation of control gaps. 

 

Accounting, Close & Reporting 

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the India portfolio, ensuring adherence to close calendars. 

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for internal, regional, and corporate requirements. 

• Drive balance sheet accuracy through detailed review of reconciliations and corrective actions. 

• Support local statutory reporting and regulatory filings as required. 

Stakeholder & Audit Management 

• Act as a trusted finance partner to business leadership, providing accounting and commercial insights. 

• Manage relationships with external auditors and Global Internal Audit, supporting audits and issue resolution. 

• Coordinate closely with Shared Services teams (O2C, P2P, Payroll) to ensure operational effectiveness and control compliance. 

• Liaise with Tax and Country Finance teams on cross-border and tax-sensitive transactions. 

Process Improvement & Standardization 

• Drive simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement of REMS finance and accounting processes. 

• Identify opportunities to enhance close-cycle efficiency, reporting quality, and compliance outcomes. 

• Provide training and guidance to the REMS Finance community on accounting standards, controls, and risk management. 

  

 

 

Key skills 

• Strong understanding of accounting principles with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to senior stakeholders. 

• Deep expertise in revenue recognition and contract accounting. 

• Analytical, independent thinker with strong problem-solving and prioritization skills. 

• Comfortable operating in a matrix, multinational environment, building strong cross-functional relationships. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau) preferred.

• Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification. 

• Typically 3-5 years of experience in controllership, audit, or finance roles within large or multinational organizations (Big 4 experience preferred). 

• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS / Ind AS, SOX, and India statutory reporting requirements. 

• Experience supporting real estate, property management, or professional services businesses is an advantage. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence in a collaborative environment.
