Job Description

Position Summary

Resicum International LLC is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic III – Airframe to support C/KC-130T Hercules aircraft maintenance operations at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, with the capability to rapidly deploy to operational Government locations worldwide.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Aircraft Mechanic III – Airframe serves as a senior aircraft maintenance technician and team leader responsible for performing, supervising, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying complex aircraft airframe and mechanical systems.

The position provides technical leadership and expertise in airframe, structural, flight control, hydraulic, pneumatic, landing gear, fuel, and mechanical systems. The Aircraft Mechanic III will lead lower-level mechanics, diagnose complex aircraft discrepancies, interpret technical publications and engineering documentation, and support aircraft readiness and production schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead teams performing C/KC-130T airframe maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.
  • Perform, supervise, and inspect maintenance accomplished by Aircraft Mechanic I and II personnel.
  • Maintain, repair, modify, and inspect C/KC-130T aircraft structures and structural components.
  • Perform aircraft sheet metal and structural repairs, including fabrication, installation, modification, and repair of structural components in accordance with approved technical data.
  • Inspect aircraft structures for cracks, corrosion, dents, deformation, damage, fastener deficiencies, and other conditions affecting structural integrity.
  • Perform repairs to aircraft fuselage, wings, empennage, doors, access panels, fairings, skins, frames, stringers, longerons, bulkheads, and other structural components as authorized by applicable technical publications.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and adjust aircraft flight control systems, including associated mechanical, hydraulic, and control components.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including lines, fittings, actuators, valves, reservoirs, pumps, and associated components.
  • Perform maintenance on landing gear, brakes, steering, doors, hatches, ramps, actuators, and associated mechanical systems, as applicable to the C/KC-130T configuration.
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft fuel system components and associated mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose complex aircraft mechanical malfunctions using technical manuals, drawings, schematics, test equipment, and systematic troubleshooting procedures.
  • Perform aircraft inspections and evaluate discrepancies to determine appropriate maintenance or corrective action.
  • Perform and supervise operational checks, functional checks, rigging, adjustments, and post-maintenance testing.
  • Interpret and apply C-130/KC-130 technical orders, maintenance manuals, inspection requirements, engineering instructions, drawings, structural repair data, and other approved technical publications.
  • Utilize aircraft-specific tools and equipment, including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, shears, drills, riveting equipment, hydraulic test equipment, and other specialized maintenance tools.
  • Perform structural component fabrication and installation in accordance with approved engineering and technical data.
  • Support aircraft corrosion identification, treatment, prevention, and repair activities.
  • Identify structural fatigue, corrosion, damage, wear, and other conditions that may affect aircraft airworthiness.
  • Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and Government customers during maintenance, modification, and engineering activities.
  • Support Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), Technical Directives, modifications, and engineering investigations, as applicable.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to lower-level aircraft maintenance technicians.
  • Inspect completed maintenance to ensure proper workmanship and compliance with applicable technical requirements.
  • Coordinate airframe maintenance activities with Quality Assurance, Maintenance Control, Production Control, Engineering, Supply, and Government representatives.
  • Make required entries in aircraft logbooks, forms, maintenance records, and other approved documentation.
  • Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, aircraft recovery, modification programs, and return-to-service activities.
  • Identify recurring discrepancies, parts requirements, technical problems, and maintenance delays and communicate them to maintenance leadership.
  • Prioritize assigned workloads to support aircraft availability, mission requirements, and aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Ensure proper accountability and control of Government-furnished tools, equipment, materials, and support equipment.
  • Comply with applicable aircraft maintenance, FOD prevention, tool control, safety, hazardous material, and environmental requirements.
  • Support rapid-response Contract Field Team (CFT) operations and deployment to Government locations worldwide.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the C/KC-130T aircraft maintenance mission.

Requirements

 

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, with significant experience in airframe/structural maintenance.
  • Recent or substantial C-130/KC-130 series aircraft maintenance experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining military aircraft structures and mechanical systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft airframe and structural systems, including:
    • Fuselage and structural components
    • Wings and empennage
    • Flight control systems
    • Landing gear and associated systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Fuel systems
    • Mechanical actuators and components
    • Aircraft doors, hatches, ramps, and access panels
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal fabrication, structural repair, modification, and inspection.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and repair structural damage, corrosion, cracks, dents, fastener deficiencies, and other airframe discrepancies.
  • Experience performing aircraft flight control rigging, adjustment, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret C-130/KC-130 technical orders, structural repair manuals, drawings, blueprints, schematics, engineering documentation, and inspection criteria.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform, supervise, and inspect maintenance performed by lower-level aircraft mechanics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead maintenance teams through complex aircraft structural and mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Experience using aircraft-specific maintenance tools and equipment, including precision measuring and sheet metal equipment.
  • Experience completing aircraft maintenance documentation and making appropriate entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Ability to provide technical support to engineering personnel and Government customers.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requirements while maintaining aircraft production and delivery schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance safety, FOD prevention, tool control, hazardous material, and corrosion-control requirements.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required by the contract.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be willing and able to rapidly deploy worldwide, potentially on short notice.
  • Must be able to obtain required visas, immunizations, security/country clearances, and other deployment documentation required by individual task orders.
  • Must meet all applicable Government and task-order-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • C-130T or KC-130T airframe maintenance experience.
  • Prior U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or other military C-130/KC-130 airframe or structural maintenance experience.
  • Experience performing C-130 structural repairs and modifications involving wings, fuselage, empennage, flight controls, landing gear, doors, ramps, and aircraft structural components.
  • Experience with C-130 corrosion control and structural inspections.
  • Previous experience as an Airframe Mechanic, Structural Mechanic, Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Quality Assurance representative, Crew Chief, Senior Aircraft Mechanic, or Production Supervisor.
  • Experience supporting Contract Field Teams, expeditionary aviation maintenance, OCONUS operations, or depot-level maintenance.
  • Experience supporting aircraft modifications, Technical Directives, MECs, ECODs, or engineering investigations.
  • Experience leading multi-discipline aircraft maintenance teams.

Physical & Deployment Requirements

  • Ability to work on and around aircraft, flight lines, maintenance stands, aircraft structures, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in flight-line/industrial environments.
  • Ability to work extended hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by mission requirements.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, crawl, and work in confined or awkward aircraft maintenance areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry aircraft maintenance tools, equipment, and components as required.
  • Ability to deploy internationally for extended periods.
  • Ability to meet all Government and host-country medical, security, passport, visa, and deployment requirements.
