Senior Manager, Strategy & Growth

The Senior Manager, Strategy & Growth will help shape and advance Manulife Singapore’s bancassurance growth agenda by identifying, assessing and progressing strategic opportunities across key bank partnerships. You will build the Horizon 2 and Horizon 3 opportunity pipeline, drawing on product, market, customer and commercial insights to identify new sources of growth. Working across multiple functions, you will translate opportunities into clear strategic recommendations and investment-ready business cases. This role offers the opportunity to influence partnership strategies, support executive decision-making and help mobilise initiatives that contribute to the future growth of the bancassurance business.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Growth and Opportunity Development

• Build and manage the Horizon 2 and 3 bancassurance growth pipeline.
• Identify opportunities across customer segments, channels, products, journeys and partnership capabilities.
• Develop opportunity concepts and progress them from initial hypothesis through strategic assessment and investment consideration.

2. Market, Customer and Competitive Intelligence

• Conduct market, customer, product and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
• Monitor relevant industry, technology and regulatory developments.
• Translate external intelligence into clear implications for Manulife’s bancassurance strategy.

3. Strategic Assessments and Business Cases

• Develop strategic options, opportunity assessments and investment-ready business cases.
• Quantify commercial potential, customer value, strategic fit, feasibility, dependencies and key risks.
• Work with Finance, Actuarial, Product, Distribution and Analytics teams to validate assumptions and expected outcomes.

4. Strategy Development and Executive Support

• Support the Director in developing partnership strategies, segment priorities and strategic roadmaps.
• Prepare concise, evidence-based recommendations and materials for senior Manulife and bank-partner stakeholders.
• Support strategic planning, workshops and decision-making forums.

5. Strategy Mobilisation and Progress Tracking

• Translate approved strategic priorities into clearly defined initiatives, accountabilities and outcomes.
• Partner with Transformation and business teams to support effective mobilisation.
• Track the progression of growth opportunities and ensure that key assumptions, decisions and expected benefits remain visible.

 

Required Qualifications

• Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development, commercial strategy or strategic partnerships, preferably within banking, insurance, wealth management or broader financial services.
• Demonstrated experience conducting market analysis, evaluating growth opportunities and developing business or investment cases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial-modelling capability.
• Ability to convert complex information into clear insights, recommendations and executive-level materials.
• Proven ability to work across multiple functions and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous

 

Preferred Experience

• Experience in bancassurance, banking, insurance or wealth management.
• Understanding of Singapore’s financial-services and distribution landscape.

• Previous experience in a strategy-consulting engagement team, corporate-strategy function or internal consulting role at senior associate or equivalent level is advantageous.
