Terms & Conditions: This vacancy is a Full-Time engagement on permanent basis. Potential candidate must be flexible to work within pattern of shift work including weekends and holidays to accommodate factory shutdowns, training courses etc. Employment is subject to Performance and probation policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical
As general worker, you are required to:

Operational Activities:

• Start-Up/Shutdown procedures - Carries out pre-start-up checks to ensure that the area and equipment is clean and is in a safe condition as per the SOP.  Assists, shutting down equipment and the area as per the SOP.

• Cleaning –Performs initial inspection and cleaning as per SOPs.   Alert machine operators/ team leaders to potential sources of contamination and dirt identified in inaccessible places.

•  Material Availability - Provides support to the machine operator to ensure a a continuous supply of product to the line.

• Quality – Monitor quality against set standards and reports any product and packaging faults.  Detects process abnormalities quickly and takes emergency action to prevent them.

•  Administration – Conducts effective hand-over activities and accurately records events that have occurred during shift

What You Need To Succeed

• General workers require a level of agility to move quickly between workstations, ascend and descend steps.

• Assembly and control operations also require a level of hand eye coordination and finger dexterity.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirement:

• KCSE National school leaver qualifications.  This will support recording of data and general teamwork skills with emphasis on good communication.

• At Least 1 year working experience in similar role.

Preferred:

• Experience of manufacturing in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Company is desirable but not essential.

• IT Skills – competent in the use of Microsoft Office; Excel and Word programmes is preferred.

This role will be based in Unilever Nairobi Manufacturing Site. You will be required to familiarize yourself with all relevant and mandatory working policy including working hours policies and safety golden rules before commencement of your duties. Unilever is not liable to assist with relocation of yourself and household. Base on your working arrangements you may qualify for transport and housing benefits which are subject to tax and other legal obligation. You will also be provided with limited medical cover once you successfully complete your probation period and offered a job.
