Welcome! Are you ready to join our team? Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Chemist for the Boise Corporate Labs at the Technology Development and manufacturing site! The Lab uses groundbreaking instrumentation and techniques to deliver engineering customers chemistry and materials analysis solutions through expertise in the area of quantitative analysis. You will be developed to provide analytical support for Micron manufacturing, facilities groups, and manufacturing support. Demonstrated proficiency in the field of chemistry or analytical chemistry is required. A detailed background in analytical instrumentation, benchtop chemistry methods, sophisticated data analysis techniques, AI proficiency or AI‑enabled ways of working where applicable, and data systems integration are a must, with applications in semiconductor environment preferred. Flexibility for support on standard shifts (A, C, E, F) possibly including nights, will be vital for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with all safety, security, quality, and laboratory training requirements, including strict adherence to Chemical Hygiene Plan procedures.
- Safely work with hazardous materials and chemicals in laboratory and cleanroom/fab environments.
- Independently lead and perform routine and sophisticated operations and maintenance on equipment.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and communication of results to stakeholders.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic technical environment by demonstrating adaptability, continuous learning, and the ability to work with minimal direction while supporting additional lab priorities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Chemistry or related science discipline with relevant industrial laboratory experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Hands-on expertise with analytical instrumentation, including ICP-OES/ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, HPLC/LCMS, GC/GCMS, and molecular spectroscopy (FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN).
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to support cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with AI tools, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-enabled ways of working
- Flexibility to support evolving business and shift requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in chemistry or chemistry related discipline with equivalent industrial lab experience.
- Familiarity with LIMS systems and applying Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Strong statistical analysis, data interpretation, and proficiency with data acquisition and reduction software.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to automate analysis, improve engineering efficiency, and enhance business outcomes.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with flexibility to adapt to changing business and shift requirements.
