Job Summary
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for documenting and analyzing quality assurance procedures and may be responsible for quality control testing of final products. The Senior Quality Engineer designs, implements and tests Quality Assurance process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques to make certain products fulfill both specified quality standards and safety regulations. The Senior Quality Engineer must be proficient in technical writing. The Senior Quality Engineer works within a team of other Quality Assurance professionals. Work assignments are given by the Quality Manager.
Essential Functions
- Formulates Quality Assurance policies and procedures for the Quality Management System.
- Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
- Maintains Quality Management System.
- Provides technical assistance and definition of inspection and test criteria to Quality Control personnel.
- Works with Engineering and other departments to determine Quality Assurance Requirements for new and existing products.
- Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error, determines levels of confidence.
- Provides technical, reporting and analytical expertise in evaluating warranty and non-warranty repairs and oversees the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process.
- Serves as a senior member of the Management Review Board (MRB).
- Completes nonconformance control including disposition, failure analysis, trending, and corrective action.
- Prepares defect analysis reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations for improvement.
- Determines areas for quality improvement by identifying and pursuing improvement methodology relevant to manufacturing processes.
- Works with the Supply Chain department to ensure continued quality of incoming parts through regular audits and ratings of the supply base, including corrective action where appropriate.
- Ensures that new vendors meet the requirements of the QMS.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Qualifications/Minimum requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required.
- Undergraduate degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum (6) years of Quality Engineering role in a manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – English language.
Salary Range: $85,000 to $118,000 annually
This estimated range represents a good faith projection of what we believe is a competitive compensation range for this position. Please understand that the offered salary will be determined based on factors such as the applicant's credentials, experiences, and the specific requirements of the role, as well as potential internal equity and external market considerations.
