Description

Role Summary

Own the reimbursed-channel revenue target and the multi-year commercial strategy for the obesity portfolio from the payer, pricing and access value story that converts revenue today, to the long-range portfolio and lifecycle plan that keeps the business ahead of the market. This is a dual mandate: win access and pricing now, and architect where the franchise needs to be three to five years out, built jointly with Global rather than defined in isolation. It carries direct revenue accountability, external ownership of Pfizer’s access and pricing position, and the strategic authorship of the obesity portfolio’s next chapter.

Key Responsibilities

Market Target, Forecast and Pricing

  • Own the revenue target for the reimbursed channel across national and regional payers, employers, and health plans
  • Set pricing recommendation and build the value story compelling enough to change a payer’s or employer’s decision, partnering with enterprise Market Access on contracting execution
  • Lead customer strategy across retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and wholesale accounts
  • Own Medicare and Medicaid strategy and government program engagement

Portfolio Strategy & Long-Range Planning

  • Own the near term and multi-year forecast strategy, ensuring each brand and indication addition is incremental to our upcoming launch
  • Partner with Global’s Commercial Development team as a peer to translate pipeline and business development strategy into an executable US launch and lifecycle plan
  • Own new-indication and lifecycle pricing strategy, defining the commercial case for launch
  • Shape and drive the Pfizer vision for the obesity portfolio, in partnership with the Global team

Leadership Capabilities

  • Operates as a senior enterprise leader, represents forecasting, access, pricing, and long-range strategy to top Pfizer leadership
  • Builds a value and pricing case strong enough to move a payer or employer decision, and leads the cross-functional effort across Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and enterprise Market Access to get there
  • Forms a point of view on where the business needs to be in three to five years before the rest of the organization sees the need, and builds conviction behind it
  • Translates ambiguous, early-stage global pipeline strategy into a concrete US plan that other leaders can execute against
  • Develops the leaders and account relationships that carry this strategy forward as the portfolio grows

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years in market access, payer strategy, pricing, or commercial/portfolio strategy in pharma or biotech, including direct revenue accountability
  • Strong storytelling capabilities to help translate product to a value proposition customers support
  • Experience building multi-year forecasts and long-range strategic plans
  • Experience partnering with global or enterprise teams on pipeline or lifecycle strategy, and with enterprise contracting, legal, and regulatory functions
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • GLP-1 category or another rapidly evolving, high-growth therapeutic area
  • Track record building creative access and pricing solutions in a market where the reimbursement model itself is still being defined
  • Retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or wholesale account experience

Measured By

Reimbursed-channel revenue; formulary and coverage wins; net price and deal value across payers and employers; patient affordability program reach; forecast accuracy at the multi-year horizon; and on-time delivery of long-range planning milestones, aligned with Global’s Commercial Development team on the product plan.
