The Role:
The primary purpose of the Senior Accounting Analyst position is to ensure the accurate recording, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of accounting, tax, and financial transactions in compliance with company policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for supporting the integrity of financial information, facilitating timely and accurate financial reporting, and partnering with internal stakeholders to enhance accounting processes and meet business needs through sound financial analysis and operational excellence.
This position is located in Querétaro, México.
What You’ll Do:
· Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, income statement accounts, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
· Prepare and report monthly closing results to the corporate consolidation team, ensuring all balances are appropriately reconciled, analyzed, and supported.
· Reconcile payroll accounting entries, accruals, and related tax provisions through ERP and payroll reports, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards.
· Maintain and reconcile employee and vendor advance accounts, ensuring timely clearing and proper accounting treatment.
· Monitor expense accruals and provisions, partnering with operational and accounting teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely write-offs.
· Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met and accounting records are complete and accurate.
· Support inventory accounting activities, including month-end reconciliations, cycle counts, and annual inventory counts.
· Prepare accounting entries, and reconciliations related to direct and indirect taxes, ensuring accurate tax reporting and compliance with applicable regulations.
What You’ll Need:
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience.
· Advanced knowledge of direct taxes and solid understanding of indirect tax principles and their accounting implications.
· Strong expertise in local accounting regulations and IFRS standards, with the ability to apply them to complex accounting transactions and financial reporting requirements.
· Proficient in the use of ERP systems and corporate financial reporting tools, with advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
· Understanding of automation concepts, process improvement methodologies, and basic programming tools to support efficiency initiatives.
· Ability to maintain a broad end-to-end view of accounting and financial processes, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the enhancement of controls, reporting quality, and operational effectiveness.
· Advanced to Fluent Portuguese proficiency (Required). Language skills will be assessed during the initial interview.
