Description
Job Title: Production Scheduler.
Classification: Exempt.
Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: Salary position commensurate with prior experience paid bi-weekly.
Reports to: Senior Logistics Manager.

Summary/Objective:
The Production Scheduler coordinates production across multiple facilities to maximize crew efficiency and build cost-effective loads. The role targets 90% on time delivery by leveraging the dedicated carrier fleet first then securing external carriers at rates below market.
Essential Functions:
- Align production schedules with plant capacity while meeting customer delivery commitments.
- Ensure production schedules reserve sufficient capacity for both e-commerce and freight demand.
- Prioritize customer orders by delivery date and appointment requirements before building routes and scheduling production.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to confirm raw material availability before creating production schedules.
- Partner with Plant Managers to ensure production schedule lead time requirements are met.
- Review production schedules for delivery conflicts before releasing them to production.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce freight costs.
- Communicate production issues promptly to plant teams and other departments.
- Leverage Transportation Management System to digitally communicate with carriers, update all route changes and create production schedules through data integration processes.

- Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in new software platforms, including TMS and ERP systems.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills for engaging with internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment:
Work environment is typical office with sitting 8 hours per day with occasional mobility, using multi-screen computer and systems, communicating with vendors and other departments through email, MS Teams and phone.
Physical Demands:
Physical demands are limited, but could include lifting up to 10 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Salary position working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day within 6:30am-6:00pm window (typically 8:00am–5:00pm) with occasional after hours or weekend responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience:
5+ years of related manufacturing or transportation position(s) and/or associate's degree or higher in applicable field.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Knowledge of transportation and basic DOT rules with an understanding of driver HOS is beneficial.
