Senior Lead Technology Risk Officer | Technology Risk Management Head of Strategy and International

About the Role 

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Technology Risk Officer. This senior leadership role will help shape the future of Technology Risk Management by transforming complex risk, operational, and portfolio data into actionable insights, strategic decisions, and measurable business outcomes. The role serves as a key advisor to senior leaders, driving enterprise priorities, risk transparency, and execution across a complex technology and regulatory landscape. The successful candidate will bring experience in highly analytical, enterprise-impacting strategic and operational roles, with advanced capabilities in data analysis, problem solving, process design, portfolio management, and executive communication. The role requires a hands-on leader who can create structure, challenge assumptions, and drive cross-functional work from concept through sustained results. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Transformation and strategic execution: Lead cross-functional initiatives that modernize Technology Risk Management processes, operating routines, and oversight capabilities. Translate strategy into priorities, governance, milestones, decisions, and measurable outcomes. 

• Strategic Portfolio Management: Own the enterprise view of oversight activities, strategic initiatives, capacity, dependencies, performance, and delivery risk. Establish the management disciplines and reporting needed to support prioritization and resource decisions. 

• Risk intelligence: Integrate risk assessments, monitoring results, issues, emerging risks, and external events to identify trends, concentrations, and enterprise-wide implications. Synthesize complex information into actionable intelligence that informs executive decision-making, prioritization, and risk response strategies.

• Analytics, monitoring, and reporting: Advance risk indicators, monitoring, dashboards, and executive reporting using internal and external data. Evaluate and leverage analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve risk insights, monitoring effectiveness, and decision-making capabilities. 

• Executive and enterprise partnership: Advise senior leaders and partner across risk, technology, data, and business teams. Develop decision materials for senior management, committees, boards, and regulators, supported by validated evidence and specific recommendations. 

 

Required Skills

• 7+ years of Technology Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

 

Desired Qualifications 

• 7+ years of leadership experience across risk management, technology, operations, strategy, analytics, business management, or transformation in a large, complex organization. 

• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-impacting initiatives across multiple functions, including operating model, process, portfolio, or capability transformation. 

• Advanced analytical judgment, including the ability to structure ambiguous problems, assess large datasets, identify meaningful patterns, and develop evidence-based recommendations. 

• Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management, controls, issue management, and independent risk oversight. Financial services and technology risk experience are preferred. 

• Ability to connect technology and operational risk to business outcomes, customer impact, resilience, and strategic priorities. 

• Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing briefings, presentations, dashboards, and decision materials. 

• Experience applying data visualization, workflow automation, analytics platforms, or artificial intelligence-enabled solutions to improve risk or business outcomes. 
• Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, strong executive presence, attention to detail, and the ability to provide credible challenge while building trusted partnerships.
• Experience establishing operating routines, governance frameworks, performance metrics, or management reporting processes within a large-scale transformation environment.
