Global Communications Manager - BL Mining & Materials__
An opportunity has become available in ABB Swizterland as Marketing and Communications Specialist for our division Process Industries. In addition, 30% of the role will include leading assigned projects for the Global Business Line Mining & Materials.
The role holder is an enthusiastic team player, creative, proactive and self-motivated, and is familiar with digital marketing and marketing automation tools.
Reporting to the Global Business Line Communications and Marketing Manager for Mining & Materials, you work closely with the Local Management and Sales Teams and the Business Line Communications Leads to develop, localize and implement integrated marketing communications initiatives and campaigns to promote ABB’s portfolio and references to key stakeholders, including customers, trade media, influencers and employees.

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to propose and implement communication plans. Each day, you will implement assigned marketing communications activities through all available communications tools according to group guidelines, directives, and messages, within the approved budget. You will also showcase your expertise by generating leads via advertising, sponsorship, and other promotional activities, using the internet as a hub for integrated marketing communications.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Act as a strategic communications partner to local management, identifying and driving internal and external communication priorities and opportunities, ensuring alignment with divisional objectives, with a strong focus on employee engagement, sales enablement and thought leadership
Lead internal communications and employee engagement, including town halls, leadership communications, internal channels, content creation, and employee recognition initiatives
Support sales and business growth through communications, developing sales materials, presentations, customer success stories, references, and other collateral that strengthen customer engagement, market visibility, and business results
Support global marketing and communications (30% of the role) for a designated product line within the Mining & Materials portfolio, by leading thought leadership, lead nurturing initiatives, product launches, sales enablement and social media presence
Qualifications for the role
University’s degree preferably in journalism / communication / marketing / or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing communications, ideally in communication agency or related B2B industries
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage several projects at the same time
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English with ability to explain technology in an easy and engaging way with strong writing, editing and proofreading capabilities
Creative personality and innovative mindset with the capacity to come with new and fresh ideas, while ensuring consistency with brand and BL positioning
A solution-focused and self-starter mindset combined with passion for strategic and analytical thinking
Knowledge of digital marketing and marketing automation (SalesForce, Pardot, etc)
