In this position...

This position is for the Michigan Assembly Body and Stamping plants and reports directly to the Manager - HRBP.

The Senior Associate, HR Business Partner, working under general supervision, is responsible for developing a general understanding of the businesses to assist in implementing relevant and impactful HR programs related to people and culture domains. The role includes tracking employee metrics, resolving concerns, and managing employee relations issues. The role partners with talent acquisition, supporting resource planning and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

What you'll do...

  • Assists departmental heads and business managers by applying research, gathering information, and using analytical and interpretation skills for decisions that tend to relate to people and culture aspects of the business units.
  • Develops a general understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards with respect to various processes across the employee lifecycle and maintains general knowledge of industry practices. Applies this understanding to assist other HR functions in providing support in employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leaves, performance management, company policies, training, and legal requirements.
  • Supports the orientation and induction of all incoming employees and workers. Supports arranging exit interviews for employees leaving the organization. Assists and supports HR management in preparing for training sessions and meetings.
  • Develops an understanding of the legal requirements and labor laws to support specialists and managers in ensuring that all activities related to the HR function comply with legal requirements and relevant labor laws and the Employment Act.
  • Assists in the facilitation of discussions with regional and/or functional areas relative to changes and updates on HR-related programs, policies, and benefit programs. Supports planning and organizing employee wellness and recreation activities such as group health checks, celebrations, and annual company events.
  • Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates. Completes all required documentation for various HR-related information, such as new hire paperwork, change of status forms, and background checks, as required.
  • Assists in tracking employee metrics around engagement, satisfaction, and turnover or attrition and assists in data preparation and analysis for monthly and quarterly Corporate HR Dashboard reports. Assists in investigations related to employee matters and supports planning for employee career advancement and succession.
  • Interprets generally defined practices and methods around topics pertinent to the HR Business Partner function, recognizes and acts on inconsistencies in data or results, and escalates unusual problems.
  • Represents the organization on HR projects, supporting the administration of programs and policies related to people, culture, and employee processes. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders for initiatives such as hiring, performance management, rewards, and resignations.
  • Maintains and promotes positive and professional working relationships with associates and management.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
  • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
