DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to support our Commercial Excellence Group. The role can be based in Raynham, MA, West Chester, PA, Raritan, NJ, or Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial leadership by partnering with the Commercial Excellence and the US Strategic Customer Management Groups. This role will directly partner with Sales and Marketing leads, and their leadership teams, in driving top line growth and value creation while supporting critical business decisions that optimize resource utilization. In addition, this role will be critical in influencing customer pricing and strategy decisions as the finance vote on the cross-functional Contracting & Pricing Committee (CPC), providing financial support and analysis for DPS CPC and business contracting initiatives, partnering with DPS Commercial Leadership to develop new, innovative contract and pricing strategies, overseeing DPS price reporting and forecasting, as well as the rebate reserve for our $5B+ business and overseeing the financial review, analysis, and approval process for Capital deals requiring finance approval. This role will be critical in influencing both the business & finance team to increase financial acumen and drive optimal business decision making, understanding financial implications from a Sales perspective as well as Gross Profit, Operating Expense, Contribution Margin, and key balance sheet drivers.
This role will need to develop relationships with key stakeholders within the US Commercial, US Marketing Operations, Strategic Account Management, Franchise Finance teams, Supply Chain, Global Services, Internal Audit, and the Business Support COE. The role will have oversight of the business plan, forecasting cycles, and monthly and quarterly close activities for these platforms. The role will manage and lead a team of four direct reports.
To be successful with these efforts, the candidate must demonstrate the Leadership Imperative qualities and focus on the activities below:
Key Activities:
- Develop key business insights and analytics to support business decision making
- Oversight and leadership of the major forecasting cycles and quarter close in line with financial calendar
- Challenge business assumptions, help to develop alternative scenarios or what if analysis
- Partner with the Strategic Account Management group, field sales organization and marketing to make critical customer and managed care organization pricing decisions to drive profitable growth
- Strong understanding and ability to build financial models, ROI analysis, and pro-forma analysis
- Proactive management of top-line sales (including gross to net), gross profit, and bottom-line Contribution Margin
- Develop strategies and recommendations to improve financial performance of the business
- Lead, develop, and support talent development of Finance Professionals
- Provide dashboard reporting to drive transparency around key financial performance metrics
- Ensure a SOX-compliant environment
- Foster a diverse and inclusive working environment where everyone feels like they belong
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; Preferably in Finance or Accounting
- MBA and/or CPA and/or CMA is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of financial experience is required.
- Strong Excel financial modeling skills, specifically demonstrating the ability to challenge business and market model assumptions is required.
- The ability to use PowerPoint to develop and effectively deliver key presentations to senior management is required.
- Strong ability to frame business results across all levels of the organization is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated influencing skills and excellent verbal and written communications is required.
- Ability to think creatively and work in a team environment is required.
- This position may require up to 10% Domestic Travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$122,000.00 - $212,750.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
