Your New Role
This role leads social and digital marketing for Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming business in Japan, supporting HBO Max, globally renowned franchises such as Harry Potter and DC, and major original content launches. The position is responsible for developing and executing campaigns that drive awareness, audience engagement, viewership, and subscription growth across owned and partner channels. Working closely with Japan, APAC, and Global teams, the role combines strategic leadership, creative excellence, agency management, and data-driven decision making to deliver impactful campaigns in one of the world's most competitive streaming markets.
Your Role Accountabilities
Lead social and digital marketing strategy and execution for HBO Max Japan, franchise brands including Harry Potter and DC, and priority streaming content launches.
Develop and localize campaign plans, content, and creative assets across social and digital platforms, ensuring strong audience engagement while maintaining brand, legal, and IP standards.
Own social and digital workstreams for major campaign launches, including large-scale global franchise campaigns such as the upcoming HBO Original Harry Potter series, partnering closely with agencies from planning through execution.
Build and execute joint marketing initiatives with streaming distribution partners, aligning messaging, creative assets, and channel strategies to maximize campaign reach and effectiveness.
Serve as the primary day-to-day lead for agencies, vendors, and production partners, managing briefs, approvals, budgets, timelines, and creative quality.
Partner closely with Global and APAC social, title, and brand marketing teams to localize global campaigns, secure approvals, and develop Japan-specific strategies and activations.
Track campaign performance through analytics, social listening, and reporting, providing actionable insights and recommendations while managing social and digital marketing budgets.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Significant experience in social, digital, or integrated marketing, ideally within entertainment, streaming, media, consumer brands, or related industries.
Proven success managing social channels, digital campaigns, or title marketing initiatives with measurable audience and engagement growth.
Strong understanding of Japan's digital and social media landscape, including platform best practices and content performance drivers.
Experience managing agencies, external partners, and multiple stakeholders across complex projects.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance and translate data into actionable recommendations.
Native-level Japanese and business-level English, with confidence collaborating in an international environment.
Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
Experience marketing streaming, subscription-based, or direct-to-consumer businesses.
Experience supporting major franchise brands, global IP, or large-scale entertainment launches.
Experience working within a multinational matrix organization.
Familiarity with social publishing, listening, analytics, and project management platforms.
Level will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, skills, and overall impact.
