  • Committee Leadership: Chair or support key physician committees focusing on clinical program alignment, strategic planning, integration of care standards, research, and continuous quality improvement. Typically, the CMO will chair formal committees only when necessary to cover for absent medical staff officers.
  • Liaison Responsibilities: Serve as the primary clinical liaison to the Quality and Safety Board Subcommittee and the community, fostering effective working relationships with all clinical staff including physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and advanced practice providers.
  • Physician Recruitment & Relations: Assist with physician recruitment, promote physician and patient satisfaction, and support the hospital’s efforts in physician retention and relations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HFAP, CMS, federal and state regulations) and support the hospital’s strategic planning and development efforts.
  • Executive Participation: Actively participate in Kettering Health physician leadership meetings, the hospital’s Executive Council, and assist in the development and implementation of the hospital’s Strategic Plan.
  • Utilization Review: Oversee and provide clinical supervision of the hospital’s utilization review program.
  • Integration & Growth: Evaluate and facilitate the consolidation and integration of clinical services and oversee the administration of the Medical Staff Bylaws. Support and promote the growth of clinical education initiatives.
