OVERVIEW

• As a Business Category Lead (BCL) supporting Walmart’s NAF business, with a primary focus on ISF Bakeries, you will provide analytical and category management support to the Walmart NAF Category Advisor team.
• Through recurring and ad hoc analytics, assortment and shelving analysis, Relay drawing support, and fact-based category stories, you will help translate retailer, consumer, and market information into actionable recommendations that strengthen in-store execution and drive total category growth.
• The role will work in a dotted-line partnership with a Senior Category Advisor on the Walmart NAF team and collaborate with other Walmart category advisor teams as needed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Analysis & Capability Development

• Data and reporting support: Strengthen recurring analytics, address data access or quality issues, and provide timely support on ad hoc requests from Walmart.
• Assortment Analysis: provide analysis to improve shelf assortment and measure impact of those changes.
• Drawing Support (Planogram Execution): Assist in relay support via drawing for in store merchandising mods – shelf design and assortment.
• Category story development: Build clear, fact-based category stories and recommendations. Drive actionable insights and strategic category recommendations to drive total category growth.

Continuous Improvement, Executional Excellence & Project Management

• Deliver accurate, complete work within agreed timelines by clarifying request requirements, validating data and logic, and setting clear expectations with stakeholders.
• Manage multiple recurring and ad hoc deliverables, prioritizing effectively and communicating progress, dependencies, and risks.
• Identify opportunities to simplify reporting, strengthen data quality, and improve analytical processes and tools.
• Contribute to team productivity and continuous improvement by developing reusable approaches and sharing effective practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Full time graduation from an accredited university with a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: 4 to 5 years of relevant Business Reporting or Analytics experience in CPG (or related) industry
• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau, Planogramming knowledge
• Soft Skills: Clear communicator and collaborative problem-solver who adapts to changing priorities, takes ownership, and builds trusted stakeholder relationships.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters degree in Business Management, Statistics, Marketing, Retail or Economics, with 5 - 6 years of relevant Business Reporting and/or Analytics experience in CPG (or related) industry
• Experience supporting Walmart or other large retail customers, with familiarity with Walmart data sources such as Luminate or Retail Link.
• Working knowledge of category management, shopper insights, assortment optimization, and in-store merchandising; experience creating Relay drawings or planograms using JDA software is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to turn complex category and consumer data into compelling, customer-ready stories and recommendations, and to assess their business impact.
• Experience managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships and improving recurring analytics, reporting, or business processes.
