The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define upgrade paths, validate design impacts, and ensure seamless execution in live network environments.
What you will do:

o Define upgrade approach (ISSU vs. redeployment) based on product capabilities and customer environment.
o Evaluate backward compatibility and interoperability impacts across EPC/5GC/Cloud components.
o Align upgrade activities with network architecture roadmap, lifecycle policies, and vendor release cycles.
- Solution Architecture & Design:
o Develop high- and low-level solution architecture for upgrades, including software/hardware pre-requisites.
o Create detailed upgrade impact assessments and rollback strategies.
o Validate upgrade path for clustered/HA deployments, geo-redundancy, and distributed architectures.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
o Work with delivery, operations, product teams, and customers to gather requirements and constraints.
o Participate in technical governance and change control boards for upgrade approvals.
o Present solution documents, risk mitigations, and test validation plans to internal and external stakeholders.
- Tools, Automation & Compliance:
o Leverage automation for pre-checks, health-checks, and post-upgrade validation (e.g., EVFNM, CaaS scripts).
o Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and audit standards during upgrade cycles.
o Integrate solutions with CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
o Develop and maintain architecture documentation, upgrade playbooks, and decision logs.
o Share knowledge across teams via technical sessions, mentoring, and documentation
The skills you bring:
- Telecom Domain Expertise:
o Deep understanding of UDM (HSS, UDR, UDSF, AUSF), IMS (CSCF, TAS, MGCF), and Packet Core (MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF) in EPC/5GC networks.
o Proven experience in at least 2-3 large-scale upgrade projects involving these domains.
- Technical Skills:
o Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, OpenStack) and containerization platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, CaaS).
o Competence in scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible) for automation.
o Experience with integration and deployment tools like Git, Jenkins, Helm is a plus.
- Design & Analysis:
o Strong grasp of system interdependencies, signaling flows (Diameter, SIP, HTTP2, GTP), and failover mechanisms.
o Ability to conduct impact analysis across interfaces (Nxx, Sxx, Gx, Rx, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
o Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
o Analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation.
o Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional technical teams.
