Pay Range:
$51.05 - $76.60Atrium Health at University is looking for an experienced full time advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) to join their critical care team and help provide care for patients in 8 Bed ICU / pulmonary clinic in Charlotte, NC. This position is seeking board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) or Physician Assistants (PA). Experience in an ICU / Pulmonary medicine as an ACP, or a post grad ICU fellowship is preferred for application. ACP will work in collaboration with a group of critical care / pulmonary physicians and ACPs providing and coordinating care for critically ill patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Duties will include: Inpatient (admission directly from the emergency department, outside hospitals or floor) management of patients that are hemodynamically complex, respiratory-compromised, and critically ill with multiple comorbidities. Outpatient (Clinic follow up / new patients with acute and chronic lung disease) management of medications and ordering and interpreting diagnostic test. Experience with procedures (central line placement, arterial line placement, Lumbar puncture, chest tube placement, thoracentesis and intubation) are preferred but not required.
Position Description:
- Outpatient Setting – seeing follow up appointments and new patients with chronic lung disease.
- Inpatient setting- Daily rounding, evaluation, management and stabilization of complex critically ill patients. Responsible for admission notes, consult notes, daily progress notes, procedures and billing
- Interpreting invasive line data, management of chest tubes and cardiac support devices
- Management of mechanical ventilation

- Teaching opportunities with ACP fellows and nursing staff
- Eligible for overtime, differential pay, PTO, and Performance Incentive Bonuses
- $2500/5 days per year of CME
Position Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited ACNP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina.
- Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
- Nurse practitioners are required to have a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice. Certification as an ACNP from a nationally recognized certifying body is required.
- Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs is required.
- Post graduate ICU fellowship or experience in an ICU / Pulmonology preferred.
- Interpersonal skills and critical thinking must be demonstrated.
- BLS and ACLS required.
