Managing Director, Finance Modernisation Lead, Office of the CFO (London)

What is the opportunity?

You will be operating at Managing Director level reporting into the Financial Performance Management Vice President, initially to be based at our offices at 10 Fenchurch Avenue, London.

This is a full time, permanent role with a requirement to work 4 days in the office.

What will you do?

You will:

• Take ownership and accountability for delivery, working directly with senior business sponsors and stakeholders.

• Bring deep subject matter expertise of end-to-end finance processes and controls, data and banking products to the team to define what ''good looks like'' and manage delivery teams.

• Manage the first release of the Finance Modernisation initiative (Wealth Management Europe Castle) working directly with senior business sponsors and stakeholders.

• Work with a multi-skilled team across data, business process and controls, and technology to support the definition of a global design.  Apply that global design to the first release for Wealth Management Europe (WME).

• Manage all deliverables and dependencies required for the successful delivery of the release working across a matrix delivery organisation.

• Provide effective challenge to the delivery teams on robust design and delivery practices.

• Work in tandem with the delivery streams and groups and help orchestrate their back logs and delivery schedule to align with the release plans.

• Ensure all components of the delivery organisation plans are prepared from a change readiness standpoint ahead of the first release.

• Lead a team of multi-skilled individuals across data, business process and controls and technology to support definition of a global design and apply that global design to a series of releases.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Extensive experience working in a complex Finance-related change environment within a G-SIB (Global Systematically Important Bank) or similar large scale banking institution.

• Understanding of the end-to-end data and process flows in a Finance function including, but not limited, to Product Control, Financial Accounting and Control, Regulatory Reporting, Performance Measurement and FP&A.

• Strong background in delivering business outcomes, on-time, budget and scope, working in close partnership with the Finance run-the-bank and technology teams.

• Demonstrable program and project management expertise, working to agile delivery methods within a matrix organisation.

• Ability to drive process and culture change with minimal disruption to business activities.

• Experience of data platform and finance sub-ledger implementations.

Nice-to-have

• Experience of data architecture, data sourcing, data analysis and data governance.

• Knowledge of banking products.

• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and use cases within banking.
