Senior UI / Frontend Engineer (React)
Location: Tagus Park, Portugal
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days on-site
Contract: Full-time
Salary: €50,000–€65,000 gross/year × 14 salaries
Relocation: No relocation support provided (Only EU citizens, locals, or candidates with valid Portuguese residency will be considered)
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior UI / Frontend Engineer to implement high-quality, modern frontends for our robotics software platform. Working closely with our Frontend Architect, you will turn architectural concepts into production-grade React software.This is a ~80% hands-on development role. We need a strong product engineer who loves writing clean, reusable code every day and wants to stay on a technical track rather than moving into pure architecture, design, or people management.What You'll Do
- Implement Modern Frontends: Build complex workflows, interactive dashboards, and real-time operational views for an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) platform.
- Write Production-Ready Code: Translate architectural choices into highly scalable, performant React and TypeScript components.
- Connect Complex Systems: Integrate REST APIs seamlessly, handling asynchronous data flows, edge cases, error states, and strict user permissions.
- Drive Engineering Quality: Embed unit, integration, and E2E testing directly into your daily workflow while maintaining pull request discipline and secure coding practices.
- Collaborate & Mentor: Work side-by-side with our Frontend Architect, Backend, DevOps, and Robotics teams while mentoring junior developers via code reviews.
What You'll Need
- Expert React & TypeScript Skills: Deep, practical experience building complex web applications (not just landing pages, prototypes, or simple CRUD forms).
- Data-Driven UI Expertise: Proven ability to transform large, dense, and complex datasets into intuitive, real-time KPI visualizations and executive dashboards.
- Modern Development Stack: Mastery of HTML5, CSS3, adaptive styling, responsive design, modern build tools, package managers, and Git workflows.
- Testing & CI/CD Discipline: Solid experience with automated frontend testing frameworks and working inside containerized (Docker) development environments.
- Pragmatic Problem-Solving: A collaborative mindset to challenge or clarify frontend architectures constructively and execute them quickly.
Nice-to-Have (Differentiators)
- Experience with state management and data fetching libraries (e.g., React Query, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, TanStack ecosystem).
- Hands-on testing experience with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Vitest, or Testing Library.
- Data visualization experience using frameworks like D3.js, Recharts, Nivo, ECharts, or AG Grid Enterprise.
- Background in robotics, IoT, industrial automation, manufacturing, or multi-tenant SaaS cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Figma collaboration workflows and accessibility standards (WCAG).
