About you and this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a North America Senior Market Value Manager located in Houston, TX! In this role, you will lead price and volume alignment across all polyethylene products and markets in partnership with product, sales, marketing, customer, account, business management, and supply chain teams. You will optimize EBIT by aligning commercial decisions with market trends, customer value, cost realities, and business strategy, while driving contract renewals and strengthening pricing discipline, communication, and accuracy across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage price/volume mix within Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) in alignment with asset, market strategy, price positioning and market conditions.
- Collect market intelligence and data from primary and institutional sources to convey pulse and trends in the markets where we participate and use in defining pricing guidelines.
- Deliver timely, meaningful and appropriate price guidelines, aligned with short and long term value center (VC) growth strategies.
- Optimize pricing for market and application-specific offerings, in line with Product, Marketing, Technical and Innovation priorities.
- Cultivate a team mindset for primary price discipline and accuracy in SmartPrice.
- Timely decision on volume allocation per region and customer (monthly) in close coordination with Supply Chain and Product Directors.
- Price-volume accountability and representation on the Value Center Management Teams (VCT) – identification of outliers and opportunities incorporating a margin velocity lens.
- Work the waterfall curve (Sell up) by challenging the sales force on low end business.
- Regularly evaluates implementation of marketing price positioning per grade to understand opportunities for improvement/outliers.
- Tracks innovation sales and premiums vs commitments to VCT.
- Host and facilitate pricing calls, price letters, and other supporting communications and manage the price increase notification process.
- Coordinate and support the contract management process with special focus on renewals and resets leading to price leakage. Manage and continually evaluate effectiveness of rebate and index pricing programs.
- Product Management focal point for sales planning process.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
