Job Description:

Salary Range: $61,400 – $76,700 per year; DOE

The School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) is seeking a Systems Support Analyst to serve as a primary technical resource supporting instructional technology and audio/visual (AV) environments, including classrooms, instructional laboratories, conference rooms, and associated computing systems. This position is responsible for the lifecycle management, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and support of instructional technologies, AV systems, endpoint devices, operating systems, and software applications. Responsibilities include supporting classroom AV technologies, control systems, conferencing platforms, software deployment, endpoint management, and technology upgrades to ensure reliable learning and collaboration environments. 

The successful candidate will apply professional technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve moderately complex technology issues, evaluate equipment performance, recommend technology improvements, and support instructional and operational objectives. The position collaborates with faculty, staff, students, vendors, and technical teams to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services that support teaching, learning, and research activities throughout SCAI. 

Responsibilities include AV and classroom technology support, endpoint management, software deployment, systems administration, documentation, technology planning, and operational support of instructional technology resources across multiple campus locations. 

Essential Duties:

• Support and maintain classroom, conference room, and instructional laboratory technologies, including audio/visual systems, control systems, computing devices, networking equipment, and related instructional technologies. 

• Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize classroom technologies to ensure reliable instructional and event support.  

• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend technology upgrades, replacements, and improvements to maintain operational readiness.  

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows and macOS devices, software applications, and endpoint technologies.  

• Administer endpoint management and software deployment solutions used in instructional computing environments.  

• Support systems administration functions including directory services, device management, policy administration, and related technology platforms.  

• Provide technical support to faculty, staff, students, and departmental partners in support of instructional, research, and administrative activities.  

• Respond to and resolve service requests through approved support channels while maintaining a high level of customer service.  

• Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions to improve technology reliability and user experience.  

• Assist with classroom technology refreshes, software upgrades, and technology improvement initiatives.  

• Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to implement, maintain, and support instructional technology solutions.  

• Maintain technical documentation, equipment inventories, system configurations, and support records.  

• Ensure classrooms, conference rooms, instructional laboratories, and associated technologies are operational and ready for scheduled instructional and event activities. 

• Provide technical guidance and training to student employees supporting instructional technology operations.  

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors during technology installations, maintenance, and repair activities. 

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting AMX, Crestron, Extron, or similar AV control systems. 

• Experience supporting Windows 11 and macOS environments. 

• Experience with SCCM, Intune, JAMF, software deployment, application packaging, and endpoint management. 

• Experience supporting instructional technology, classrooms, conference rooms, and audio/visual systems. 

• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and systems administration practices. 

• Experience utilizing ServiceNow or similar IT service management systems. 

• Experience maintaining technical documentation, inventories, lifecycle plans, and support knowledge bases. 

• Evidence of identifying, recommending, and implementing technology improvements through technical analysis and professional judgment. 

• Experience supporting higher education, instructional computing, laboratory environments, or academic technologies. 

Working Environment:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
