As our Queensland operations continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Maintenance & Asset Coordinator to join our team in a key position.

This role is supporting our Queensland underground mining operations. You'll become the vital link between our clients, field teams and Kurri Kurri support functions, ensuring our mining assets are maintained, performing reliably and delivering outstanding commercial outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the performance and lifecycle management of a fleet of underground mining equipment supporting our Queensland contracts.

This is far more than a maintenance coordination role. You'll combine technical expertise, operational leadership and commercial awareness to maximise equipment availability, support our clients and contribute to the ongoing success of Alfabs' Queensland operations.

Working closely with site personnel, maintenance teams, clients and internal departments, you'll ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and productive while contractual obligations are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance activities across our Queensland underground mining fleet.
• Manage equipment throughout its full lifecycle, including maintenance planning, overhauls, component replacements and asset retirement.
• Monitor equipment performance, reliability and utilisation, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate spare parts procurement, inventory management, warranty claims and component tracking.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, equipment performance reports and delay reporting.
• Lead weekly operational reviews covering equipment availability, maintenance priorities, forecasting and budgets.
• Monitor contract performance, commercial outcomes and financial deliverables.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and invoicing activities.
• Build strong relationships with our Queensland clients, acting as a trusted operational and commercial contact.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Hire, Stores and Finance teams to optimise equipment performance and customer outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all company, contractual and legislative safety requirements.
• Travel a minimum of three days per week to underground mine sites, client locations, with additional travel as required to support operational and business needs

About You

You are an experienced underground mining professional who understands the importance of equipment reliability, strong client relationships and delivering operational excellence.

You'll ideally bring:

• Demonstrated experience with Underground Coal Mining equipment.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, asset management and equipment lifecycle principles.
• Experience coordinating maintenance activities across mining operations.
• Sound commercial understanding, including budgeting, forecasting and contract performance.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Relevant trade qualification highly regarded.
• Qualifications in Asset Management, Project Management or Contract Management will be highly regarded.
